ANGELINE VER HOEVEN, 95, of Sioux Center, Iowa died Wednesday, 4/13, at Valley Manor Care Center in Rock Valley.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, 4/16, at 11:00am at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center with Rev. Randy Widbin officiating. Interment will be held prior to the memorial service in Sherman Township Cemetery of rural Maurice, Iowa.
Angeline (Hofman) Ver Hoeven was born June 22, 1909 to John and Angeline (Bonnes) Hofman of Sanborn, IA. Angeline attended a Sanborn area country school through the 8th Grade.
She was joined in marriage to Andrew Ver Hoeven on February 27, 1927. The couple lived on a farm in the Rock Valley area for the first few years of their marriage before moving to Hull.
Angeline worked in the Hull hospital as a cook for four years before she took her food preparation talents to the Hull public school where she was the head cook for 20 years. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Sioux Center where she taught Sunday school for many years.
Angeline is survived by two daughters, Lillian & Bob Redfearn of Fullerton, CA, and Glenda Germundsen of Oak Grove, MN; four grandchildren, Patty & Rick Evans of Laguna Hills, CA, Mike & Penny Van Maanen of Cypress, CA, Angeline and Tim Seddon of Coon Rapids, MN and Aaron Germundsen of Brooklyn Park, MN; in addition to five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Andrew; her parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Agnes & Joe Solsma; two infant brothers; a son, Johnny; son-in-law, Robert Germundsen; nephew, Joseph Solsma; and two great-grandsons.
