Dorothy was born on a farm northeast of Orange City, the daughter of Henry Veldboom and Sarah (HoIlander) Veldhoom. She attended country schools.
In 1952 she moved into Orange City, and in 1982, she became a resident of the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City.
Dorothy had been a caterer, a cook at the Orange City Public School and a cook at the Sioux County Home. She retired in 1971.
She was a member of the American Reformed Church and the Business and Professional Women’s Club.
Sursivors include one sister , Mrs. Clarence (Myrtle H.) Koenders, of Fulda, MN.; nieces and nephews.
Miss Veldboom was preceded in death by her brother, Albert and two sisters, Julia De Zeeuw and Cora Vandcr Sluis Douma.
