Fred Duimstra of Orange City died at the Sioux Valley hospital in Sioux Falls early Tuesday morning, Nov. 4, following an operation Saturday. He had been ill for the past eight weeks.

Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon in the First Reformed Church, Orange City.

Mr. Duimstra was 69 years of age. The family moved to Orange City 19 years ago from Colton, SD, and lived on an acreage near town for a time, later moving to town.

Surviving are Mrs. Duimstra and five children: Mrs. Arie Vander Lugt of Orange City; Peter of Colten, SD; John of Grand Rapids, MI; Jack of Orange City; Mrs. Stephen Killeen of Chicago.

One daughter was drowned at Lake Okoboji ten years ago in the tragedy which took the lives of 4 Orange City school girls and their teacher. He is also survived by one brother, Jake Duimstra of Santa Cruz, CA.
