Menus De Jong Menus De Jong, 82, of Doon died, Wednesday, Sept. 11, 1985 in a hospital in
Rock Valley. -
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, in the First Reformed Church of Doon. The Rev. Norman Manning officiated. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery. Family visitation was Friday in Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center.
Mr. De Jong was born Jan. 9, 1903, in, Sioux Center. He married Etta Anema Oct. 23, 1929, at Hull. They lived near Rock Valley and Doon. He was member of the First Reformed Church of Doon where he served as an elder and was active in the choir. He was a former member of Memorial Funeral Home Board. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Fred of Hull, Charlie of Junction City, Kan., Manuel of Dester, Herman of, Columbus, Ga. and Corky of Canton, S.D.; three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Evelyn) Vis of Hull, Mrs. Clarence (Esther) De Roon of Rock Valley and Mrs. Roger. (Marilyn) Doiron of Sanford, Maine; one brother, Henry of Rock Valley; five sisters, Mrs. Case (Winnie) Visser of Rock Valley, Harriet De Jong of Visser of Rock Valley, Harriet De Jong of Orange City, Mrs. Edward (Alice) Swier , of Redlands, Calif., Mrs. Albert (Margaret) Kooiker of Madison, S.D., and Mrs. Albert (Ann) Brunsting of Jenison, Mich.; 29 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
