MRS. CLARA VAN'T HUL

Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Van't Hul, 69, of Rock Valley, mother of Mts. Richard Van Voorst and Mrs. John G. Van Voorst of Sioux Center, were held at the First Christian Reformed church at Rock Valley at 1 p.m. Friday. She passed away at the Sioux Center Community Hospital March 29.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Leonard Van Drunen and burial was made in the Valley View cemetery at Rock Valley.

Mrs. Van't Hul was born May 11, 1896, in The Netherlands. She was married to John Van't Hul November, 1917. He preceded her in death in 1942 [actually, 1952].

Survivors include seven children: Fannie (Mrs. John Westhuis) of Canton, Lucy (Mrs. Richard Van Voorst) of Sioux Center, Eileen (Mrs. John G. Van Voorst) of Sioux Center, Bernice (Mrs. Paul H. Schuett) of Sioux City, Bernard J. of Rock Valley, Clarence and Gerald of Inwood. Also surviving her are 31 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; three brothers, Germ, Nicholas and Cornie Baker, and three sisters, Mrs. Al Heerma, Mrs. Case Bloemendal and Mrs. Sam Veldkamp.

A news note elsewhere in the same issue of the News says she had been under care at the local hospital for 4 1/2 weeks due to a diabetical condition.

Her husband's obituary (Sioux Center News, Jan. 31, 1952) gives her maiden name as Bakker.
