Funeral services were held for John Van't Hul on Monday in the Christian Reformed Church at Rock Valley.

John Van't Hul was born February 13, 1896 at Perkins, Iowa and grew up in that locality. He married Clara Bakker on November 27, 1917. Seven children were born to them, all of whom survive. They are Fannie (Mrs. John Westhuis) of Hawarden; Lucy (Mrs. Richard Van Voorst) of Sioux Center; Eileen (Mrs. John Van Voorst) of Sioux Center; Bernice (Mrs. Paul Schuette) of Hull; Bernard of Rock Valley; Clarence and Gerald at Hull.

He is also survived by his widow, one sister Jessie (Mrs. Bert Van Maanen) of Sheldon, and five brothers, Herman, Gerben, Gerrit, Bert and Otto.

Mr. Van't Hul operated a trucking business before suffering a stroke five years ago and had been in poor health since that time. He suffered a serious stroke shortly before Christmas but recovered quite well. He passed away on Thursday, January 17, 1952, at his home in Rock Valley. Rev. John Brueker of Sioux Center officiated and Vander Ploeg Funeral service were in charge of the arrangements and burial in Valley View Cemetery.
