Died, on Sunday evening, August 28th, 1898, at Orange City, Mrs. E. Van 01st. Deceased was the wife of E. Van 01st, our oldest blacksmith. She was born October 1st, 1835, and was married in Holland in 1861 to E. Van 01st and came to the United States in 1868, settling at Pella,Iowa ;
joined the second party of pioneers who left Pella for Sioux county and arrived in this town in April, 1871, and they have ever since resided here.
Deceased leaves a husband and six children to mourn her loss. She was a kind and good wife and mother and a true Christian in all her acts, and
since 1873 a member of the First Reformed church of this place. Her death is a hard blow for the mourning husgand and children, but the certain belief that she has gone to a better Home above consoles them in their grief.
The funeral services were held at the First Reformed church on Tuesday, August 30th, at 1 o'clock p.m.
(The family is listed in the 1880 census of Holland Tsp, Orange City IA. Eibert 43, Wympje 44, Lambert 16, Dirkje 14, Jannetje 11, Jan 9, Gerrit 4. All born in the Neth. except last two children.

He married Wijmtje Van Gerder at Barneveld Geld Neth on 20 Oct 1862 She was the daughter of Jan Van Gerder and Dirkje Teunissen. They had the following children Lambert, Dirkje, Aaltje, Jennie, Jan, and Gerrit.)
