Orange City News.
We learn that death has claimed as its victim Walter Warntjes, at the home of his parents in Hull last Tuesday afternoon. He was a fromer resident of Orange City. Consumption in its ghastliest form had taken hold on him and though he has tried various changes of climate for the betterment of his health it availed nothing. Walt had numerous friends in this place who sincerely regret his seemingly untimely death.
(From the Sioux county cemetery index Walter Warntjes died 16 Aug 1898 at 28 years 10 months buried Hull. 1885 census places the family at Orange City his father Hendrik Warntjes 39 years born Netherlands, wife Wolterdina nee Wolters 40, children Wolter (Walter) age 15, Adrian 13, Brena11, Lucas 8, Clazina 6, Rea 3 and Wolterdina 5 mo.) Henry b. Nov 1845 m. 1870 lived in Lincoln Tsp Sioux county in 1900, his wife Dena b. Feb 1844 and daughter Dena b. Sep 1884.)
