Services For Norman Dale Van't Hul To Be Held Friday

Funeral services for Norman Dale Van't Hul, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Van't Hul, will be held Friday, May 18, at the First Reformed Church in Hull, beginning at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Wm. C. De Jong officiating.

Norman was born June 9, 1949, and passed away May 15, 1951 in a hospital in Sioux City after considerable suffering from nephritis and high blood pressure. The last month was spent in the hospital, the first ten days in Le Mars and the last three weeks in Sioux City.

From the Sioux Center News, May 17, 1951:

Norman Dale, 2 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Vant Hul, died Tuesday in a Sioux City hospital after a five week illness. The funeral will be held on Friday in the First Reformed church of Hull.

Mr. and Mrs. Vant Hul live on a farm 7 miles northwest of Hull. They have two other sons and one daughter.
Because the parents spent most of the time during the small child's illness at his bedside the neighbors formed a bee of 15 tractors and 17 men and prepared their farm for crops.
