Funeral services for Mrs. Dick De Jong. 76, Sioux Center, were held Monday, Dec. 8, at the First Reformed Church,
Rev. Ervin Voogd conducted the services and interment was in the Sherman Township Cemetery, Maurice. Arrangements were completed by the Memorial Funeral Home, Sioux Center.
She passed away on Friday, Dec, 5, 1980 at her home in Sioux Center at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 29 days.
Gertrude, daughter of John and Nellie Schreur was born on April 6, 1904 at Maurice. She attended school and lived her youth in rural Maurice.
She married Dick De Jong of Maurice on Feb. 15, 1928, where. they lived their married life. Mr. De Jong passed away on March 10, 1975.
She was a member of the Reformed Church of Maurice.
She is survived by four sons and two daughters, Pierce of Remsen, John of Maurice, Greta (Mrs. John
E. De Zeeuw) of Sioux Center, Nelvina (Mr. M.G. Wissink) of Minneapolis, Minn., Milo of Colfax, Washington; Nelson of Phoenix, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grand-. children; one brother, Nelson Schreur of Hull, and one sister, Mrs. Agnes Oftedahl of Spring Valley, Calif.
Besides her husband Dick, she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.
