Mrs. George De Jong of Orange City Dies
Word was received here of the death of Mrs. George De Jong at Orange City following a brief i1lness caused by stroke which occurred two weeks ago. Mrs. De Jong had always enjoyed good health until two weeks ago Sunday when she suffered a fainting spell in church. She was taken to her home and seemed to be improving until early this week when she became critically ill and pasesd from this life at 8 P.M. Tuesday. Deceased spent her girlhood and resided at Boyden until fifteen months ago when with her husband and family she moved to Orange City where her husband is a member of the editorial staff of the Volksvricnd.
Beside her husband she is survived by one son, Jerome, her aged mother, Mrs. Albert Smit who makes her home with them, and the following brothers: Bert Smit of Hospers, Ralph and James Smit of Boyden, and Henry Smit of Houston, Texas.
Funeral services will be held Friday at the home at 1 p.m. and at the First Christian Reformed church at Orange City at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. H. Colenbrander officiating. The remains will be interred in the family burial plot at Boyden.
