Former Orange City Man Dies Following Helicopter Crash
A former Orange City boy, John DeBlauw,28,of Hawthorne, California died Saturday morning after suffering severe injuries in a plane accident near Los Angeles July 4.
According to reports received here, DeBlauw was flying a helicopter when it went down in flames in the vicinity of Los Angeles where he delivered mail.
Further details of the accident have not been learned.
Mr. and Mrs. John DeBlauw, the young man's parents who live in Orange City, left immediately for California upon hearing about the accident. They arrived there Friday.
Survivors included his widow and two childeren,
Bruce John,3, and Beth, the couple's two week-old infant daughter. Also surviving, brsides his parents, are his sisters, Mrs. Henry Muyskens of Kalamazoo, Mich., Mrs. Robert Bos of Amboy,Ill., Mrs. Case Van Santen of Orange City, and Elinor, Mary ann and Laura at home.
