Michael Lee Van Otterloo, 15, died Sunday, November 11, 1990 from injuries received in a two-car accident east of Rock Valley, Iowa.

He was born November 23, 1974 in Rock Valley. He attended the Rock Valley Christian School thru the eighth grade and was presently a junior at the Rock Valley Community High School where he was a member of the Future Farmers of America and the basketball team. He was a former member of the Rock Valley Cadet Club.

Survivors include his father, Sherwin Van Otterloo, Rock Valley; his mother Linda Van Otterloo, Rock Valley; one brother, Mark, at home; three sisters: Mrs. Greg (Shelly) Poppema, Sheldon, Ia., and Shelia and Lisa, both at home; and his grandmother, Mrs. Johanna Gerritsen of Rock Valley.

Services will be held today, Wednesday, November 14 at 10:30 a.m. in the First Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. Eric Fennema officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A car driven by Joel Van Veldhuizen slid out of control into the path of an oncoming car driven by Pamela Diedrich of Conrad, Montana. He and Van Otterloo, his passenger, and all three occupants of Diedrich's car were all killed. The article includes a photograph of the wrecked cars.
