April 27, 1909--- October 14, 1990
Geraldine De Jong, 81, of Ireton died Sunday, October 14, at a hospital in Hawarden.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. October 18, at Christian Reformed Church in Ireton with the
Rev. Wybren Oord officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ireton.
The former Geraldine Hofmeyer was born April 27, 1909, in Sioux County. She married Ted De Jong December 29, 1935, in Ireton. The couple farmed near Ireton from 1935 until 1979, when they retired to Ireton. He died January 9, 1990. She became a resident of Hass Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden September 6, 1990.
She was a member of Christian Reformed Church and Ruth Circle of the church.
Survivors include a son, Alfred B. of Ireton; three daughters, Arlene Dekkers of Hawarden; Jeanette Groenendyk of Grandville, Michigan, and Thelma Bomgaars of Maurice; 10 grandchildren: and one great-grandchild.

Geraldine De Jong was born on April 27, 1909 in Sioux County, Iowa, the daughter of Gerrit and Anne (Vellinga) Hofmeyer....Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Geretta Ekdom; and grandchildren, Gaylene Dekkers, Arnold Dekkers, and David De Jong.
Interment: Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Ireton, Iowa.
