Orange City, died Tuesday. January 5, at the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City. Services were at First Reformed Church in Maurice on Friday, with the Rev. Timothy Vink and Arthur Huistein officiating. Burial was at Sherman Township Cemetery near Maurice.
De Jong was born on January 7, 1895, in Maurice, the daughter of Gerrit and Johanna (Pennings) Brink. She was raised at Maurice and on January 28, 1920, she married G. Raymond De Jong at Maurice. The couple lived on a farm three miles east of Maurice for 56 years and then moved into Maurice. He died April 25, 1978, at Orange City.
She had been a resident of Heritage House since November 1978, and was a lifetime member of First Reformed Church in Maurice.
Survivors are a daughter, Imo, and her husband, William Mulder, of Orange City: a granddaughter. Patricia, and her husband, Robert Vargo, of Altadena, California: two grandsons, Leslie Mulder and his wife, Sue, of Orange City and Donn Mulder and his wife, Betty, of Fremont, California and three great- grandchildren, Raegen and Renae Mulder of Orange City and Michael Mulder of Fremont, CA.
She was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
