Obituary: IRETON, IOWA- Lyle C. Richardson, 60, of Ireton, died suddenly on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at his residence in Ireton.
Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ireton with Rev. Andrew Carlson officiating. Visitation will begin at noon Monday, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. followed by visitation with the family until 8:30 p.m. at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The Porter Funeral Home in Ireton is assisting the family.
Lyle Curtis Richardson was born August 26, 1951 in Hawarden, Iowa, the son of Curtis and Mabel (Zimmerman) Richardson. He attended country school for 2 years and graduated from West Sioux High School in 1969. Lyle served with the Iowa Air National Guard 185th in Sioux City for 6 years. He farmed south of Ireton, Iowa and also was employed at the Ireton Coop Feed Mill.
Lyle had a good sense of humor, and enjoyed cooking, playing cards, and drawing his many caricatures.
He is survived by three sons, Joe and his wife Alissa and their son Clay of Ireton, Jesse serving with the US Air Force, and Jordan and his wife Ashlee of Ireton; and two sisters, Beverly Schultz and husband Harland of Medford, Oregon and Myrna Bos and husband Clarance of Renner, South Dakota.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis in 2002 and Mabel in 2006.
