Obituary: Inwood, IA: Delma Van Geest, 81, of Inwood, died Monday, October 17, 2011 at Fellowship Village. Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Friday at Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley. Burial at Valley View Cemetery. Rev. Steve Swenson officiating. Visitation with family present 6:30-8 pm Thursday at Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley.

Delma was born March 29, 1930 in northern Lyon County, Iowa, daughter of Gerrit and Hattie (Kroon) Kraayenhof. Delma married Donald Van Geest on August 5, 1949 at Steen, Minnesota. Together they lived NW of Rock Valley and two years at Hull, Iowa before moving to Inwood. Delma was a cook at Inwood Public School. and West Lyon Public School for many years. She later worked at Otis Radio and K-Products at Canton, South Dakota before she and Don retired and moved to Okoboji, Iowa. Delma and Don moved back to Inwood in 2006 and then to Fellowship Village on December 28, 2010.

Delma is survived by her husband, Don; son, Dan (Lorraine) Van Geest of Inwood; daughter, Deb (Dale) Kooima of Colman, SD; 3 grandchildren, Amy and Chad Van Geest of Inwood, Renea (Barry) Rozeboom of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; 1 great-grandson, Ryland Rozeboom; sister-in-law, Frances Terpstra of Sibley, IA.

Delma was preceded in death by her parents, Gerrit and Hattie Kraayenhof; brother, Edward Kraayenhof.
