Caroline Elizabeth Walker, 100, of Hawarden died Saturday, March 8, at the Hawarden Community Hospital.

Services were at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 11, at the Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden with the Rev. Byron Shafer officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Walker was born September 9, 1896 in Union County, South Dakota, the daughter of Fredrick & Nellie (Noteboom) Boeck. She graduated from Hawarden High School and taught at William School in Union County. She married Ivan B. Walker on September 20, 1916, in Hawarden. For many years the couple raised and sold strawberries and vegetables from their acreage garden. He died December 7, 1985.

She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Lance of Hawarden and Robert of Fort Dodge; a daughter and her husband, Virginia & Ernest Packard of Hawarden; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Fredrick "Buck" and a sister, Mary Jane Hartman.
