Lance Walker, 82, of Hawarden, died unexpectedly Sunday, September 26, 1999, at his apartment at Parkview Terrace, Hawarden.

Services were today (Wednesday) at Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden, the son of Ivan & Caroline (Boeck) Walker, at their farm home in Union County, South Dakota, south of Alcester.

He was a lifelong bachelor. He worked for the LG Everist, the Milwaukee Railroad, the local gas company, and as an area farm laborer. As a young man his main interest was in training horses to do tricks.

Survivors include his sister and her husband, Virginia and Ernest Packard of Hawarden; a brother and his wife, Robert & Ruth of Fort Dodge, Iowa; three nieces; and a nephew.
