Helen Walker, 80, of Kingsley, formerly of Orange City, died Wednesday, May 18, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Kingsley.
Services were at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 21, at Dover Alliance Church in Orange City with the Rev. Henry Elgersma officiating. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City.
Born Helen Elizabeth Bawden, August 31, 1907, in Sioux City, she lived her childhood years in Lake City and was a graduate of Lake City High School. She attended business school in Des Moines. She married Herschel Walker, December 13, 1930, in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. She lived in Boston, Kansas City, Kansas, and Le Mars. She worked for Aalfs Manufacturing for 25 years. After retiring, she lived in Orange City and had been a resident of the nursing home the last two and one half years.
She was a member of Dover Alliance Church and Women's Missionary Prayer Fellowship of the church.
Survivors include a son, Don of Centerport, New York; two daughters, Judy Schroeder of Remsen and Martha Kohout of Orange City; a brother, Robert Bawden of Knob Noster, Missouri; a sister, Ruth White of Santa Fe, New Mexico; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
