Charles Van Vooren Jr., 68, of Rock Valley, died Thursday, January 14, 1988 in a Sioux Falls hospital.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 18 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerald Fisch officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in Rock Valley. Visitation was held Sunday with parish rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Mr. Van Vooren was born October 21, 1919, in rural Rock Valley and attended rural schools near Rock Valley. He married Marie Deiterman January 9, 1945, in Elkton, S.D. They farmed west of Rock Valley and moved to Rock Valley in 1964. He worked for the Milwaukee Railroad for 15 years. Mrs. Van Vooren died Jan. 23, 1974. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Vicky) Warner of Hudson, S.D., Mrs. Randy (Dianne) Vande Velde of Wayne, Neb.; three granddaughters; four sisters, Mrs. Matt (Louise) Baatz and Mrs. Willie (Margaret) Hevern, both of Rock Valley, Mrs. Mary Lems of North Bens, Wash. and Mrs. Albert (Aileen) Blauwet of Larchwood, Ia.
