Richard Van Woudenberg, sixteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Van Woudenberg, died at his home near Inwood, Thursday morning, Dec. 31. Richard had been ill with pneumonia for a short time.
Richard was born on a farm near Fairview, S.D. and has lived in this vicinity all his life. He is survived by his parents, and two sisters (Marie) Mrs. Case Middle and Elsie, and two brothers, Henry and Joe of Fairview. Elsie and Henry are living at home.
Richard is a grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jost Ver Doorn.
Funeral services were held at the First Reformed church in Rock Valley Monday afternoon, January 4. Rev. H. J. Aberson, pastor of the church, was in charge of the services. Burial was made in the Valley View cemetery, south of Rock Valley.

Third Death in Family Within Month's Time
Richard Van Woudenberg, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Van Woudenberg of Rock Valley, died at his home Thursday, Dec. 31st, of pneumonia. This is the third time death has come to the family in the month of December 1936. On the 3rd Joost VerDoorn, grandfather of Richard Van Woudenberg, was stricken ill and died the same day. Three weeks later Mrs. VerDoorn died after a few days serious illness, and two weeks later Richard became ill and died....

Henry Woudenberg who had been working in Hynes, Calif. for the last six and a half months returned home the past Saturday by train to attend the funeral of his brother Richard.
