Mrs. Mary Wallace died Wednesday morning, Nov. 15, 1899, of pneumonia, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. W. Vearrier, of this place. The funeral was held at the M.E. church of Alcester, and the remains placed in the Alcester cemetery. Mary Miller was born in Northumberland County, PA 1829. She was married to C. W. Wallace in 1850. In 1854 they moved to Illinois and in 1883 to Union County, SD, then to Sloan, Iowa in 1890, and remained there until a few weeks ago, when she came here on a visit. She leaves a husband and eight children, all of whom are living to mourn her loss, all but one, C.C. Wallace, of Sloan, Iowa, being present at the time of her death. She was a kind and affectionate wife and a loving mother and was esteemed by all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance. When a child she became a member of the Presbyterian church and was a true and constant follower of Christ, and died in the love and praise of her Lord.
