Margaret Ericson, 90, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of Akron, died Friday, Oct. 25, 1996, at a hospital in St. Joseph, MO.

Services were at 2 p.m. Sat., Nov. 2, at the Union Creek Lutheran Church, rural Akron, with the Rev. William Flemr[??] officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Visitation was from 2 to 8 p.m. Fri., Nov. 1, with a 7 p.m. prayer service and family present 7 to 8 p.m., at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.

Mrs. Ericson was born Nov. 11, 1905, in Big Springs Township, Union County, SD, the daughter of Charles Allen and Doretha (Rossback) Hamilton. She graduated from Prospect Hill rural school in Union County.

On Feb. 16, 1927, she married Milton E. Ericson at Union Creek Lutheran Church, rural Akron. He died in 1974. She resided on a farm in Union County for 18 years; Rock Rapids for 29 years; Stauker Lake, MN, for four years; and Mesa until August 1996, when she moved to St. Joseph, MO, to live with her son, Arlo.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Arlo and Iola Ericson of St. Joseph and Roger and Roseann Ericson of South[San] Francisco, CA; two grandsons, Douglas of St. Joseph and Richard of Balto, MD; three granddaughters, Jane Edmunds of Richardson, TX, Connie Whan of Corinth, TX, and Susan Michal of San Mateo, CA; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Gatewood of Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Miriam Enockson of Sioux City; three brothers-in-law, Robert Enockson and Art Claeys, both of Sioux City and Wayne Waterman of Akron; several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Pallbearers were Wendall Jacobs, Richard Enockson, Ronn Gatewood, Larry Claeys, Raymond Ericson and Eric Hedeby.

Memorials may be given in her name to Union Creek Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the church building renovation fund.
