Laurine A. Ericson, 74, of Hawarden died Monday, September 17, 1990, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services were held Thursday at the United Church of Christ in Alcester, SD, with the Rev. Ron Nuss-Warren officiating. Burial was held in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation was at Wass Funeral Home in Alcester.

Mrs. Ericson, the former Laurine Jurgenson, was born June 23, 1916, in Sioux County, the daughter of Charlie and Kate (Nuruda) Jurgenson. She attended Williams Country School in Union County, SD, and a school in Chatsworth. She was employed at the Council Oak Grocery Store, Yorks Shoe Store and Otis Radio, all in Hawarden. On September 1, 1939, she married Russell Ericson in Sioux City. The couple farmed in the Big Springs, SD, area. In 1975 they semi-retured and moved to Hawarden. Mrs. Ericson was a member of the United Church of Christ in Alcester.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Bart and his wife, Susie of Alcester; and two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Rose) Morehead of Hawarden and Catherine Nordling of Sioux Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Lawrence.
