Hawarden Independent, April 16, 1914

Wm. Eslick, one of Elk Point's oldest and highly respected business men, died at a hospital in Sioux City, Tuesday following an illness of a couple of months. He was 62 years of age and had been a resident of that vicinity nearly fifty years. He was a brother of Mrs. Willard Allen of this city and a brother-in-law of James & Wm. Green, residing west of town. Mr. & Mrs. Allen & Wm. Green went to Elk Point yesterday to be present at the funeral. Mr. Eslick is survived by his widow, five sons and one daughter. The are Mrs. Ray Scott of Hawarden, Lis Eslick of Kansas City, Victor Eslick of Oklahoma City, Jack Eslick, William Eslick and Rachael Eslice of Elk Point. Three of his sons were interested with him in business at Elk Point.
