Paul Erickson, 27, died Tuesday, March 4, as a result of injuries received in a snowmobiling accident in Rock Valley.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Netherlands Reformed Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. G. M. de Leeuw officiating. Burial was at Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley.

Erickson was born February 16, 1976, in Canton, South Dakota, son of Roger and Dena (Rozeboom) Erickson. The Erickson family lived near Inwood. He attended Netherlands Reformed Christian School in Rock Valley. After completing school, he began working for Vande Hoef construction. He then worked for Rock Valley Cement Block and Tile. He moved to Arizona for a period of two years where he worked at a recreational vehicle shop as a repairman. He returned to live in Sioux City where he worked at Team Ford as a service writer. He then came to Rock Valley and was currently employed at Van Zee Enterprises as a rock crusher operator.

He enjoyed hunting and outdoor sports, especially motor sports. He lived life to the fullest and loved spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his mother of Inwood; five brothers and their wives, Roger and Kathy of Lawton, Mark and Brenda of Sioux Center, Tim and Lois of Gravette, Arkansas, Dave and Melissa of Doon and Phil and LaRae of Hull; nine sisters and their husbands, Deanna and Doug Hamlin of George, Cindy and Jim Merritt of Inwood, Deb and Stewart Even of Brookings, South Dakota, Rita and Doug Nemmers of Le Mars, Janice and Jody Farmer of Orange City, Kay and Gary Van Veldhuizen of Doon, Denise and Dave Van Otterloo of Gravette, Danita and Mike Mantel of Doon, Rachael Erickson of Inwood; 31 nieces and nephews; and one great-niece.

He was preceded in death by his father; brother-in-law, Carey Smit; and an aunt.
