Eshuis, Mr. Adolph - 1893-1946

ESHUIS, TAMMINGA VAN VELZEN

Sioux Center News, August 29, 1946

Mr. Adolph Eshuis passed away at the Hull hospital on Tuesday noon, August 27, 1946 at the age of 53 years. He had been ailing for the past year and suffered much.

Surviving him are the widow and nine children, Alice, Jessie, Frieda, Adolph, Anna Mae, Henrietta, Margene, Geraldine and Cornie. Also a brother Gerrit Eshuis of Ferndale, Wash., and three brothers and one sister in Holland.

Mr. Eshuis was born on Jan. 25, 1893 in The Netherlands. He came to America in the year of 1913. In the spring of 1920 he was united in marriage to Alice Tamnminga who preceded him in death on July 30, 1933. On Nov. 28, 1935, he married Martha Van Velzen who now survive him with the children. Also preceding him in death were his father, mother and a sister who died in The Netherlands.

He worked at the creamery for 13 years and had to give up his work several months ago due to this health.

Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon, August 30 at one o'clock at the home and at 1:30 o'clock at the First Christian Reformed Church. Rev. Bernard Haan will officiate. Interment will take place at the local cemetery. Acting pall bearers will be six of the cream haulers, Wm. Vander Kieft, Gerrit Van Riessen, Ed Biemers, Ed Van Putten, Henry Vander Grift and Tony Teunissen.
