Word has been received here that K. Tietema a former eitior of the Volksvriend (Dutch paper of Orange city) and last residing at Palmer SD had died there last Saturday. For some years past, Mr. Tietema has been a minister of the gospel, and had just been installed at Palmer during March.
(This was Rev. Kasper Tietema, born 1836 Ooststellingwerf Neth, his wife was Anna Hendricka Leppers b. 1843. Married 7 Jun 1865 Assen Drents. Children all born in Frankeradeel Friesland were – Lubbertus, Johanes, Are, Willem, Gerrit, Anne, and Albert. He became editor of the Volkvriend about 1881. He was the son of Lubbert Kaspers Tietema and Arentje Alberts Feddes. He is buried in the Evergreen Presby Cem of Deuel Co. SD)
