From the Alton Democrat of May 7, 1898 Hospers news.….

Jno, Lemkuil, residing northeast of Hospers, is recovering from the injuries received in the cyclone. Mr. Lemkuil was found under a demolished building with a child in each arm. The children had died from the effects of the fall,
(This is believed to be the family ofJohn H. Leemkuil b.12 Dec 1872 O’Brien Co. (near Hospers IA) died Jan 1944 buried Presb. Cemetery Hospers.
His wife was Derkje Kleinheksel 1875-1918 Married 1895. The two children that died may be those recorded in the cemetery index as Harry 1898-1899 and Henry 1896-1899. The death date may be 1898 instead. Other children were Hattie, Geroge, Florence, Sadie, John J. and Brudette. )
