Succumbs to Heart Failure

August Erickson of Sioux City, who formerly lived southeast of Big Springs, died from heart failure Monday afternoon while he was filling the radiator of his car at Tekamah, Neb. Mr. Erickson was on his way home from Dallas, Texas. He drove into the filling station at Tekamah and while the attendant was filling the gas tank he stepped from the car and was filling the radiator when he was stricken. The county coroner was called and pronounced the cause of his death was heart failure. An ambulance from Sioux City was called and the body was brought to Sioux City.

August Erickson was born in Union county, May 20, 1847, and so was 53 years old at the time of his death. He was a member of the Union Creek Lutheran church and of the I.O.O.F lodge at Akron. He is survived by his widow, his mother, Mrs. Lars J. Erickson of Sioux City, and one sister also of Sioux City.

Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning in the Harry Christy funeral chapel in Sioux City and at 2 o'clock in the Christian church at Akron.
