DEATH CAUSED BY PNEUMONIA
Erick L. Erickson Passed Away Saturday After Brief Illness

Erick Erickson, for thirty-three years a resident of Washington township, died at his home near McNally Saturday morning [Dec. 4] after an illness of but a few days from pneumonia. His condition was not regarded as serious until the day preceding his death, although he had not been in robust health for a number of years.

Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Ross Funeral Home in Hawarden, conducted by Rev. Geo. Steinkamp, pastor of the Lutheran church, and interment was made in Grace Hill cemetery.

Erick Ludwig Erickson was born at Madison, Wis., Aug. 20, 1859, so was past 67 years of age. He was baptized there in the Lutheran church and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Norway Grove, Wis., at the age of 15. He came to Sioux county 33 years ago and located on a farm a short distance south of the present McNally station where he made his home until his death. He never married and for a number of years past his nephew, Henry Erickson, has lived with him and operated the farm. He is survived by one brother, Ole Erickson of McNally.

He was highly regarded by his neighbors and his death is sincerely mourned by a wide circle of old friends.
