Eppinga Services To Be Today

Funeral services for Jake Eppinga, 72, who died Sunday [Feb. 24] at his residence after suffering a heart attack, will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday (today) at the Vander Ploeg funeral home here and at 2 p.m. at The Netherlands Reformed church. Rev. J. Van Zweden will officiate, and burial will be in Valley View cemetery.

Mr. Eppinga was born October 2, 1884, in The Netherlands. He came to the United States at an early age. A retired farmer, he had resided in the Rock Valley community for 44 years.

Survivors are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Paul W. Groeneweg of Rock Valley and Mrs. Tunis Van Middendorp of Rock Rapids; two sons, Dick and Ben, both of Rock Valley; a brother, Andrew of Hull; and seven grandchildren.

Mr. Jake Eppinga of Rock Valley, 72 years of age, died Sunday evening at his home in Rock Valley. He had been suffering for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Eppinga, two sons, Ben and Dick, and two daughters, Mrs. Paul W. Groeneweg and Mrs. Tunis Middendorp; and seven grandchildren, all of Rock Valley. He is also survived by one brother, Andrew Eppinga, of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was preceded in death by one brother, Onne Eppinga and two sisters, Mrs. John Zondervan of Minnesota, and Mrs. Ryn Fylstra of Hull, Iowa.
