Last Rites for Mrs. J. Eppinga

Funeral services were held Monday for Mrs. Jake Eppinga, 86, of Sioux Center, at 1:30 p.m. in the Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley with the Rev. J. Van Zweden officiating. Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery under the direction of Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley.

Organist Mrs. William Rozenboom accompanied the congregation during hymns "Psalter #240 and #120." Pallbearers were Jeffrey and Sydney Eppinga, John T. and Marvin Dale Van Middendorp, Egbert Van Beek and Donald Oostenink.

Mrs. Eppinga died Thursday, June 19, in the Sioux Center hospital following a ten year illness.

The former Alice Vanden Berg was born in the Netherlands on January 1, 1884. She married Jake Eppinga in 1907 at Hull. He preceded her in death. She made her home in the nursing wing of the Sioux Center hospital for the past ten years.

Survivors are two sons, Ben and Dick, of Rock Valley, one daughter, Mrs. Teunis Van Middendorp of Rock Rapids; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
