Chas. Jones Blows His Head Off With a Shot Gun.
Charles Jones, a young man 28 years of age, residing five miles northwest of Ireton, committed suicide last Saturday. The young man was alone in the house,- his father and sister
having gone to the circus at Hawarden.
He placed a shot-gun against his head and shot away part of his skull. The ... charge set fire to his clothes and when the father and sister returned from the show a ghastly sight met their eyes. His clothing had partially burned off and blood was spattered on the walls and floor.
The young man left a note which has not been made public but it is supposed disappointment in love caused him to commit the insane deed. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Cole at Ireton, Sunday.
