Linda Ensz, Jan. 16, 1956-Aug. 18, 2005

MATLOCK--Linda K. Ensz, 49, Matlock, died Thursday, Aug. 18, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Services were Monday, Aug. 22, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon, with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Arnold officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery, under the direction of Sheldon Funeral Service.

Linda Ensz, daughter of Norman and Vera (Cleveringa) Petrich, was born Jan. 16, 1956, in Primghar. She lived her youth in rural Sheldon. She graduated from Sheldon High School in 1974. She attended one semester of Northwestern College in Orange City. She married Russell Ensz of Sheldon on June 21, 1975, in Sheldon. They lived in Matlock. She worked at the Villager Restaurant in Sheldon until she became pregnant. She then was employed by the Matlock Elevator during the fall harvest for many years. She currently was the head cook at the Sheldon High School, where she had worked for 15 years.

She loved to sing, play the organ, ride horse and cook. She was known for making great deviled eggs. She also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings. The most important part of her life was the love of her family. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon.

Survivors include her husband, Russell Ensz of Matlock; two daughters, Jamie Lynn Ensz of Sioux Falls, SD, and her special friend Mark Pyle, and Laura Kay Ensz of Matlock, and her fiance, Darwin Hohbach; her mother, Vera Petrich of Archer; a grandchild; a brother, Mark Petrich; a sister, Emily and Scott Knight of Sheldon; and two brothers-in-law, Robert and Michelle Ensz and Rodney and Diane Ensz.

She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Petrich; and parents-in-law, George and Clara Ensz.
