Ruby Walinga, 77, of Boyden died Thursday, Dec. 22, 1994, at her daughter's home in Pierson. Services were Saturday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sheldon, with interment in Sheridan Township Cemetery, Boyden.

Ruby Selken was born March 4, 1917, in rural Lester. She attended school in Lester and graduated from Lester High School. She attended the Lutheran School of Nursing in Sioux City and was a licensed registered nurse.

On Jan. 16, 1948, she married Alex Walinga. They made their home near Boyden where they farmed. She worked as a registered nurse in Hull for several years.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sheldon, and was active in the Dorcas Society and Birthday Club at the church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lee (Luella) Anfinson of Pierson and Mrs. Tim (Meribeth) Johnson of Owego, N.Y.; three grandchildren; two brothers, Wendell Selken of Lester and Carl Selken of Larchwood, and one sister, Mrs. John (Irene) Taylor of Falls City, Neb.
