Jacoba Eggink, 91, of Long Beach, Calif., died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 1997. Graveside services were held Tuesday, Sept. 9 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress, Calif., under the direction of the Mottells and Dilday Funeral Home in Long Beach.

Coba was born Feb. 21, 1906 in Orange City, the daughter of Henry and Alice Wielenga Eggink. While living in Alton, she worked at the Henry Eggink Store in Alton. Later she moved to Washington, D.C. for a time. In 1943 she moved to Bellflower, Calif. and later to Long Beach where she was employed at various places, including the Shipyards as a cashier.

After suffering a stroke in late 1993, she lived at the Edgewater Convalescent Hospital in Long Beach. Two years ago she was diagnosed as having cancer and she had been under Hospice Care at Edgewater Convalescent Hospital for the past year and a half.

Survivors include her brother and wife, Peter and Maxine Eggink; a nephew and wife, Randy and Lora Eggink; a grandnephew and three grandnieces, all from Omaha, Neb.; and a grandson, Philip Jager from Michigan.
