Asa James was the son of Dick and Ethel (Wiersema) Kraayenbrink. He was raised at Middleburg. On January 24, 1949, he married Wilhelmina Henrietta Vande Kamp at Sioux Center. They fanned at Hull, and he also was employed by
Woelber Fencing in Hull. In 1991, they moved into Hull.
Mr. Kraayenbrink was a member of the First Reformed Church, where he had served on the consistory as both an elder and a deacon. He was also active in Men’s Brotherhood and the choir. He had served on the board of directors of the Hull Cooperative Association, and he was a member of the Gideons.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters and their husbands, Doris and Harold Scholten of Sheldon; and Hillene and John Unangstof Bedford, Texas; a sister and her husband, Alyda and Don Wassenaar of Sheldon; and a brother and his wife, Henrich and Marilyn Kraayenbrink of Sioux Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
