Funeral services were held at Bethel Christian Reformed Church here at 1:30 P.M., Tuesday for John Albert Meendering, 46, who died December 7 at Sioux Center Community Hospital after an illness of several weeks duration.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Henry Vanden Heuvel of Sioux Center and burial was in Memory Gardens with Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Meendering was born in Sioux Center, January 4, 1928, and spent most of his life in this community. Following his marriage on January 4, 1950 to Margaret Vande Kamp the couple farmed near Sioux Center until about 2 1/2 years ago when they moved to Hospers where hIn Memory of
He was an employee of Sioux County.
Survivors include the widow; four daughters, Mrs. Dennis E. (Beverly Ann) Jansen of Sioux Center, Mrs. Timothy L. (Gloria Gail) Kamstra of Sheldon, Leah Sue and Kristin Kay at home, his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Bert J. Meendering, six brothers, and two sisters, Cornelia (Mrs. Harold Jansen) of Bellflower, Calif., Gerrit of Denver, Lawrence of Sheldon, Allan of Hull, Marvin of Sheldon, Calvin of Racine, Wisc., Lois (Mrs. Jim Dirksen) of Rock Valley and James of Matlock.
Mr. Meendering served as an elder in the Hospers Christian Reformed Church, president of the consistory, chairman of the Evangelism committee.
