Last Rites for Mrs. Anna Budden Monday, Dec. 26

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Budden, 85, who passed away at her home Thursday afternoon Dec. 22 at 1:30, after a long illness, were held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Granville, Monday morning, Dec. 26 at 10:00 o'clock. Rev. N. J. Becker officiated at the Requiem Mass, assisted by the high school choir. Acolytes were four grandsons, Terry and Tommy Budden, Al Pottebaum, and Gary Feller.

Anna Millenkamp was born Nov. 26, 1875 at Petersburg, Iowa where she attended school, and was employed in the creamery. She was married in 1900 to Edw. Budden. In 1905 they moved to a farm near Granville where she since resided. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Parish and the Christian Mothers Confraternity.

Surviving are six sons and four daughters, Edwin of Ashton, Albert of Northbrook, Ill., Ray, Norbert, Emil and Roman all of Granville, (Malinda) Mrs. John Poeckes, (Irma) Mrs. Art Wersinger of Remsen, (Colletta) Mrs. Al. Pottebaum of Alton, (Armella) Mrs. Leo Hemmen of Granville; 31 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband 13 years ago, 2 children, Amelia 5, Alfred 12. She was the last surviving member of her family.

Pallbearers were the 6 sons, Edwin, Ray, Norbert, Albert, Emil and Roman. Interment was in the St. Joseph cemetery under the direction of Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen. Rosary was recited at St. Joseph Parish Hall Sunday evening, Dec. 25 at 8:00 o'clock.

Relatives from away were Messrs. and Mesdames Peter Lanners, Claus Haack, Henry Krogman, Fred Arens, Frank Beckmann, Frank Bohnenkamp, Joe Bohnenkamp, Gene Poeckes, all of Remsen; Mr. and Mrs. John Nilles of Ashton, Mr. and Mrs. Teddy Stallmann of Belvediere, S. Dak., Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hansen [or Hannen?, letter smeared] of LeMars, Mrs. Mathilda Budden, Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Budden, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Budden, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Eufers, all of Sioux City, and many more from nearby towns.
