STROKE FATAL TO PATRICK BURNIGHT

Patrick Burnight of Custer, S.D., a former resident of Akron and Chatsworth, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, following a stroke. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church at Custer and burial was in the church cemetery.

Patrick Joseph Burnight, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Burnight, was born at Monticello, Iowa, March 26, 1876. He spent his earlier life at Akron where he worked for his brother, T. L. Burnight, Sr., in the grain business. Later he came to Chatsworth where he was employed in the same kind of work with his brother-in-law, G. H. Schafer. At one time he served as marshal at Chatsworth and also served as constable of Logan township. He left this community a number of years ago, going to the Black Hills region.

He is survived by two sisters and four brothers, Mrs. G. H. Schafer and William, Joel and Henry Burnight of Chatsworth; Mrs. Lawrence Gibbons of Akron and Charles Burnight of Sioux City.
