Death of Mrs. Schafer's Brother

John Burnight, a resident of Akron for more than fifty years, and a brother of Mrs. G. H. Schafer of Chatsworth, passed away at the Akron hospital Monday, May 4th, following an operation for gall stones, at the age of 65 years.

He was born in Jones county, Iowa, but came to Plymouth county with his parents when he was 13 years of age and they located on a farm northeast of Akron. In 1892 he was united in marriage with Delia Johnson of Emery, S.D., and after their marriage they made their home in Akron but for the past sixteen years they have resided on a farm west of Akron in Union county.

He is survived by his wife and six children, Edward and Earl of Akron; Thomas of Sioux City; John of Hot Springs, S.D.; James of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Mrs. M. Schroeder of Gleneden, Ore.; one brother, Patrick Burnight of Hot Springs, S.D., and one sister, Mrs. G. H. Schafer of Chatsworth; four half-brothers, Charles Burnight of Akron, and William, Joseph and Henry Burnight of Chatsworth, and one half-sister, Mrs. Lawrence Gibbons of Akron.

Funeral services were held at the Catholic church in Akron at 9 o'clock last Wednesday morning with Rev. Fr. J. A. Roder in charge. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery in Akron.
