June 27, 1899-May 3, 1995

Jean Buffington, 95, formerly of Sioux Center, died Wednesday, May 3, at Valley Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley. Services were Saturday at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Joel Bensema officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center.

Buffington was born on June 27, 1899, in Sioux Center, the daughter of Cornelius and Jacoba (Hoeve) Van Beek. On June 21, 1934, she married Orville Buffington in Sioux Center. He died May 10, 1968. She lived in Sioux Center until 1989 when she moved to Rock Valley and entered Valley Manor in 1993.

She was a member of Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center.

Survivors include twin sisters, Coba (Mrs. Roy) Salsbury and Cora (Mrs. G. G.) Vermeer, both of Rock Valley.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gilbert and Andrew Van Beek, and two sisters, Gertrude Vande Brake and Grace Mouw.
