Sioux county Capital of Mar 31, 1980.
Mrs. Hessel Van Eizenga, 87, died in an Orange City hospital after a long illness. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday (today) at the First Reformed Church, the Revs. Frank Snuttjer and Gordon Bloemendaal officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery under the direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home.
Mrs. Van Eizenga was born on May 26, 1892 in Orange City and lived all her life in the Sioux County area. She lived the last three years at Heritage House. She was a member of the First Reformed Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Wilbur (Mae) Mouw of Redlands, Calif; Mrs. John (Margaret) Bloemendaal of Hospers, Iowa and Mrs.
Randall (Helen) Stover and Mrs. Don (Norma) DeJager, both of Le Mars, Iowa; four sons, Don and Bill Freriks of Alton, Vernon Freriks of Fresno, Calif, and Robert Freriks of Omaha; a stepson, Jacob Van Eizenga of Orange City; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Cora) Kleinhesselink , Mrs.Marion (Jeanette) Mouw and Mrs. Charles (Jennie) DeVries, all of Orange City; two brothers, Edward and John Vellinga, both of Sheldon, Iowa; 21 grandchilren and 26 great grandchildren.
