DYKSHOORN, VANTIELEN, VRYMOET

Mr. William Dykshoorn, retired farmer, pasted away very unexpectedly Friday morning, Apr. 2. He had been well in the morning and went about his work as usual. After he had completed his work, he walked to town to get the morning mail. Enroute home he stopped at the Peter Niessink home, complaining of being very tired and sat doen on the porch to rest. Mrs. Niessink offered assistance, but he said he would just rest a minutes and be on his way. Just a few moments later he passed away, resuly ofa heart attack. He had reached the age of 82 years 2 months and 13 days.

Mr. Dykshoorn was born in the Netherlands and moved to this country at the age of 8. In the year of 1893 he was united in marriage to Minnie Van Tielen, and to this union twin daughter were born, Mrs. John Sneller and Mrs. Wm. Brantsen, both of Sioux Center. A year later the mother passed away, leaving him with the care of two small children. On March 8, 1895 he was united in marriage to Miss Johanna Vrymoet who now survives him with the following children; Martin of Sioux Center; William of Hawarden; Harriet(Mrs. Henry Franken) of Denver, Colorado; Marion Dykshoorn of Sheldon; Edward Dykshoorn of Ireton; Eldine (Mrs. Leonard Melles) of Paulinna; and Margaret(Mrs. Davis Roelofs) of Sioux Center. He is further survived by 26 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a brother Simom Dykshoorn, now of Sheldon.

He was preceded in death by two sons John who died at the age of 25 years and Simon who died at the age of 30 years.

On March 8, 1948 Mr. and Mrs. Dykshoorn, together with all of thyeir children and grandchildren, celebrated thei 53rd wedding anniversary.

Funeral Services were held on Monday afternoon April 5, at the home and at the First Reformed Church. Rev Benjamin Ver Steeg, pastor of the local Central Reformed church officiated at the services and burial took place at the local cemetery.
