Burton James Eisma,69, of rural Maurice died Tuesday, September 18, at a hospital in Le Mars following a short illness. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 21, at Calvin Christian Reformed Church in La Mars with the Rev. Edward Visser officiating. Burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Le Mars.

Eisma was born March 6, 1921 to Sip and Jennie (Katje) Eisma in Sioux County. He married Gertrude Florence Maassen March 15, 1946, in Maurice. She died November 15, 1979. He was a retired farmer. Burton was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church of Le Mars and Bertram Post 276 American Legion of Ireton.

Survivors include two sons, Rodney of Le Mars and Stanley of Maurice; four brother, Sidney, Peter and Allen, of Ireton and Eugene of Inwood; Sadie De Vries of Denver; and six grandchildren
