Mildred Struck, 76, of rural Ireton, IA, died on Friday, May 25, 1990 in her home following a lengthy illness. Services were held on Tuesday morning, May 29, 1990, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ireton, the Reverend Mark Carnahan officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Ireton, under the direction of the Porter-Dow Funeral Home.

Mildred Irene Vlotho was born on February 11,1914 at Ireton, the eldest daughter of Hattie (Nanninga) and John Vlotho, Jr. She was graduated from Ireton High School in 1931, and also graduated from Iowa State Teacher's College. She taught school in Maurice, Hull, Onawa, LeMars and Orange City, all in Iowa. Mildred and Walter Struck were united in marriage on September 7, 1947, at Ireton. They farmed north of Ireton and she continued as a substitute teacher for some time. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Ireton, where she held many offices of the Ladies Aid and taught Sunday School.

She is survived by her husband; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Berdena Struck of rural Ireton; a grandson, Ryan Struck; a granddaughter, Allison Struck; and two sisters, Cleone (Mrs. Dean) Franken of Okoboji, IA, and Lorraine Horstman of Spirit Lake, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
