Mrs.Wessel Eenkhoorn Sr. passed away at her home here on Thursday morning, Jan 11, 1945 after a long illness due to rheumatism and heart trouble, during which time she suffered much. She was confined to her bed for the past two years and reached the age of 77 years.

Left to mourn her departure are her husband and seven children, namnely; Mrs.Jake Van Hattum of Rock Valley, Mrs. Adolph Neyenhuis of Bellflower, Calif., Mrs.Henry Wynja of Sioux Center, Mrs. Charles De Jong of Beaver Creek, Minn., Ben Eenkhoorn of Sioux Center, Mrs. Peter Proper of Artesia, Calif., and Wessel Eenkhoorn Jr. of Bellflower, Calif. Also an only brother Mr. Art Bleyenburg of Edgerton, Minn. and a sister Mrs. Jacob Bakker in the Netherlands. There are also 38 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 16, 1945 at one o'clock at the home and at 1:30 at the Second Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Oliver Breen officiating . Interment was made at the local cemetery.

Mrs. Eenkhoorn, nee Christina Bleyenburg was born in the Netherlands on Nov 6, 1867. On Oct. 3, 1889 she was united in marriage to Mr. Wessel EEnkhoorn who now survies her with the children. She is preceded in death by a daughter Mrs. John Ter Haar who died in 1936 and a son Mr. Art Eenkhoorn who died in 1941.
