Edna De Groot, the daughter of Henry and Dora(Eenkhoorn)Wynja, was born on November 30, 1929, In Steen,Rock, Minnesota. She moved with her family to Sioux Center,Iowa, where she received her education. On January 11, 1949, she was united in marriage to Abe "Bud" De Groot in Sioux Center, Iowa. After their marriage the couple farmed in the Sheldon area. They moved into Sheldon in 1963 and Edna was employed at the Ben Franklin Store in Sheldon for 29 years before her retirement in July of 1996. She passed away on Saturday; April 1, 2000 at the Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon, reaching the age of 70 years, 4 months snd 1 day.She was an active member of the Bethel Reformed Church, and was also a volunter at the Oak Park Care Center in Sheldon.

She is survived by her husband; Abe "Bud" De Groot of Sheldon, a daugther and her husband; LaVoone and Marv Bosch of Des Moines, Iowa, two sons and their wives; Kenneth and Kathy De Groot od Sheldon and Roger and Teri De Groot of Des Moines, Iowa, eight grandchildren; Brad, Kelli, Heather and Bryan Bosch, Teresa and Matt De Groot and Jordan and Jared De Groot, two great grandchildren; Katir and Emily Bosch, a sister and her husband; Dorothy and Marc. Uittenbogaard of Sheldon, Iowa, and two brothers and their wives; Jim and Elizabeth Wynia of Melvin, Iowa and Chris and Dorothy Wynja of Sioux Center, also a host of the other relatives and friends.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wessell and Joe Wynja and a sister Christina Ruisch.
